Services · Every step, one roof

End to end. Cut, form, weld, finish, assemble, ship.

Most contract manufacturers send half the job out the back door, then wait on somebody else's queue. We don't. Every step happens inside our 75,000 sq ft Birmingham facilities — engineered, cut, fabricated, coated, assembled and shipped by the same team, which is how an order turns around in about a week. Take the whole chain or just the step you're short on.

Laser Cutting at Edwards Equipment, Birmingham, Alabama SERVICE · S-01

Laser Cutting

Two CNC lasers, sheet and plate, cutting five days a week.

Two CNC laser cutting machines run the front of our shop. Send a flat pattern and we cut it — mild steel, stainless, aluminum — from a single prototype blank to a standing weekly release. Running two machines means a down spindle doesn't stop your job, and a rush part doesn't wait behind a production run.

Capabilities

  • Mild steel to 1.25" · aluminum and stainless steel to 1"
  • Two machines — redundancy on breakdowns, shorter queues on rush work
  • DXF, DWG, STEP and IGES accepted; PDF traced on request
  • Common-line nesting to hold down material cost
  • Deburr and edge-break as a secondary operation
  • Cut-only orders welcome — you don't have to buy the whole build

Assembly at Edwards Equipment, Birmingham, Alabama SERVICE · S-04

Assembly

Kitted, built and boxed — so you order a product, not a pile of parts.

Most shops hand you a box of components and let you figure out the rest. We finish the job. Hardware goes in, sub-assemblies get built, units are labelled and boxed to your pack spec — and if you want, they leave here on a truck to your customer with your name on the carton, not ours.

Capabilities

  • Mechanical assembly and sub-assembly builds
  • Hardware insertion, fastening and torque-spec work
  • Kitting with bagged hardware and printed instructions
  • Serialization, labelling and barcode application
  • Retail-ready and freight-ready packaging
  • Drop-ship direct to your customer under your branding

Contract Manufacturing & OEM at Edwards Equipment, Birmingham, Alabama SERVICE · S-05

Contract Manufacturing & OEM

OEM-grade builds — yours, ours, or somewhere between.

Edwards is your contract OEM (original equipment manufacturer). We manufacture to your print, your customer's print, or partner with you on a co-developed design — then own that part on your bill of materials for as long as you build it. This is the standing-program side of the shop: release schedules, held inventory, drop-ship. For one-off and overflow work, see the job shop.

Capabilities

  • Reverse engineering from samples or legacy drawings
  • Inventory and JIT (just-in-time) release programs
  • Drop-ship to your customer with your branding
  • Vendor-managed inventory (VMI) on agreed SKUs
  • Long-term price agreements with steel hedging

Job Shop

Send us the part your shop can't run. We'll estimate it.

  • Estimates from your print — DXF, STEP, IGES or PDF
  • Overflow laser, saw, brake and punch capacity
  • Powder coating for shops without a finishing line
  • One-off parts and short runs — no minimum order
